Jason B. Ernst

Jason is a 25 year old student at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. He is currently completing his first year of the doctoral program in Applied Computing. Jason finished his M.Sc. in Applied Computing at the University of Guelph in June of 2009. His thesis was entitled: “Scheduling Techniques in Wireless Mesh Networks”. Jason graduated in 2007 from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, ON with an Honours B.Sc. in Computer Science.

Jason was awarded a Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) from the University of Guelph to support research in Wireless and Mobile Networks. Jason has also been awarded a Dean’s List scholarship at the University of Guelph for achieving at least 75% average in the graduate program. Professional

Jason is actively involved in writing and publishing original ideas and content in computer science Journals. He is also involved in the peer review and organizing aspects of the review process. At the time of writing, Jason has several Wireless Network papers accepted for publication in both international conferences and journals. He also has two papers published in the area of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). Jason is a member of both ACM and IEEE professional societies and is a founding member of the Guelph ACM student chapter. Jason runs his own IT Consulting and Software Development Business named Ernst Consulting which you can visit at http://www.ernstconsulting.ca.

Jason was also a web developer at Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario for a one year contract while completing his masters studies. Lastly, Jason is a teaching assistant at the University of Guelph.
